This is a solid 3* hotel, could even pass as a 4*. The room was large, clean and in good state of repair. It had one comfortable king bed with a hefty duvet and too many pillows; sofa; coffee table; desk; dresser; closet; iron and board; two phones with two lines; coffee maker. Two bottles of water were on sale for double the price of gasoline. The bathroom was OK with soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair dryer, lots of mirrors and lots of towels.
Soundproofing was so-so. The airconditioning was a wall unit that cooled well but made too much noise for me to sleep with.
All phone calls including 800 incur a $1.75 connection fee, plus applicable toll. Wired high-speed Internet is $9.95/night. There is free wireless Internet in the public areas, so the lobby and bar looked like an Internet Café, with all the guests coming down from their rooms rather than paying the fee.
There is a bar (great chicken-noodle soup) and a restaurant in the lobby. The hotel is in Westport Plaza that has many restaurants and bars, offering discounts to hotel guests.
Free parking, USA Today (delivered) and WSJ (pick up in lobby), shuttle to STL airport.
Front desk: nice.
No additional taxes/fees charged.
