This hotel is nice enough and reasonably well kept, despite its obvious old age. The furniture in the room must be from the 70’s, especially the wooden hang-off-the-wall desk like the one you might have had in your room at your suburban home if you were in school in those times. But everything was clean and in good working order. Hotwire rates it 2.5*, Priceline would rate it 2*. The hotel is actually in the city of Normal, next door to Bloomington but included in the Bloomington zone.
Check-in was a breeze and the agent was very nice.
Besides the queen bed and said desk, the room had a couch and a cabinet fitted with a small fridge and a microwave oven.
Free parking, local and 800 calls, wireless Internet, breakfast, USA Today.
No additional taxes/fees charged.
Would gladly stay here again, although Hotwire’s $52 rate was a bit high I thought.
